When purchasing towing equipment, please consider the following:

1. You will require a wiring kit, including relays, for 1 or 2 sockets depending on your requirements.

2. The 1st socket contains the mandatory electrics for road lighting for towing caravans or trailers, and the 2nd socket provides the additional electrcal requirements for running the internals of your caravan.

3. if you do not already have one, you will also need to purchase a towball.

What Type of Tow-bar?

The Fixed Flange Ball – traditionally used in the UK for all types of towing and allows the fitting of accessories such as bumper shields or towbar mounted cycle carriers that let you tow and carry cycles at the same time. Now complete with an AL-KO compatible towball.

The Detachable Flange Ball – exclusive to Witter this bar offers all the benefits of a Fixed Flange, including the ability to fit a towball mounted cycle carrier to tow and carry bikes at the same time, but is easily removed when not towing so preserving the clean lines of the vehicle and preserving ‘shins’. The Swan Neck Detachable – easily removed when not in use and whilst cycle carriers are available for this version, it is not possible to tow and carry cycles at the same time.
